Privacy Policy

The short version

Your collection lives on your device. We don’t run ads, and we don’t sell your name, email, or photos. We do make money from the collecting economy around the app — affiliate links, partner card shops, and aggregated (never personally identifiable) collecting trends — and this page spells out exactly how.

What we collect

• Collection data. Cards you own, want, sell, or trade; grading details; notes. Today this is stored on your device. If you create an account, your name and email are stored with your profile. When optional cloud sync ships, synced collection data will be stored on our servers and this policy will be updated before that happens.
• Photos. Photos you attach to the cards in your collection stay on your device. When you use Smart Add to scan a card, that photo is sent to our servers only to recognize which card it is — it is matched visually and then discarded. Scan photos are not stored on our servers and are not linked to your account.
• Catalog requests. Card searches, price lookups, and shop-availability checks reach our servers and appear in standard server logs (card ids, search terms, IP address). These requests are not linked to an account profile today.
• Location (optional). If you allow it, your location is used on-device to sort nearby partner shops. It is not stored on our servers.
• Purchases from partner shops. Orders placed with a card shop through CardShop are between you and that shop; the shop receives the details needed to fulfill your order.

How we make money with data

We’re a business, and we’d rather say this plainly:

• Affiliate links. “Find on eBay” links carry our eBay Partner Network campaign id and the card’s catalog id, so eBay can pay us a commission on qualifying purchases. eBay’s own privacy policy governs what eBay collects when you land there. This never changes the price you pay.
• Aggregated collecting trends. We analyze collection, want-list, search, and pricing activity in aggregated, de-identified form — for example, “how many collectors want this card this month.” We use and may commercially share those aggregate insights (for instance with partner card shops deciding what to stock). Aggregates never identify you and are never re-identifiable.
• Partner shop features. Shop availability, buylist, and (future, opt-in) want-list matching connect you with partner shops. If a future feature would share your identifiable want list with a shop, it will be opt-in and clearly labeled at the moment you use it.

We do not sell or share your personal identifiers (name, email, photos, exact location) with anyone for their own marketing.

Your choices

• Use the app as a guest — no account, no name, no email.
• Deleting the app deletes your on-device collection and photos.
• Location for shop distance is optional and revocable at any time in your device settings (iOS or Android).
• Residents of California and similar jurisdictions can request access to or deletion of personal information, or object to processing, by emailing us. We honor these requests regardless of where you live.

Children

Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Retention & security

On-device data stays until you delete it. Server logs are retained on a rolling basis for operations and abuse prevention. All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

Changes & contact
